PAYG SIM cards
Anybody have any info on the requirement to register PAYG SIM cards?
Köszönöm szépen! |
Re: PAYG SIM cards
Stick with Vodafone. You will need an address card or final contract, together with proof of ID (i.e. a passport) that proves your name, before being given a payg sim. Buy a package though, as the sim card only will work out more expensive.

Not too much OT:
This is said to be an EU wide directive - from July 1 all mobile phone cards need an identification with name and address. Don't know the details yet though ... |

Update re registration:
Today we went to the TKom office in Keszthely to do the registration for our Domino cards - probably more than a hundred people a day have to do this ... The queue moved very slowly, after about 40 min we were there, showed our registration (actually only my wife because both phones are in her name luckily - for me it would have been more complicated maybe) and were quickly done. The lady checked evrything and we were done - no signing necessary, just an SMS to check the number. |
