Hunngarian Interpreter/Translator Fees?
Hi All,
Has anyone recently (within the last 3 months) had any Hunngarian Interpreter/Translator work done (in person and/or paperwork) and if so, what was the going rate per hour, page, document, etc.
Thanks in advance

Re: Hunngarian Interpreter/Translator Fees?
Translation cost vary probably more than garage costs. It depends on whether is is a company (with bills) doing the work, a freelance translator, an english teacher doing it part time, a uni. student looking for cash.......etc. All will do translation but the standard will vary. Documents for official purposes will need approval by the official state service - who will also translate but probably the most expensive.
It depends for what you need the translation. Legal or contracts or medical then don't use English teachers or students but someone used to the work involved.
Translation is usually charged by the page which is defined as 1250 characters including spaces. (a hang over from tripe writer days) but always ask for the definition of the page when getting a quote to avoid nasty surprises.
You can search the internet to get an idea of commercial charges
But the short answer to your question would be 1500huf up to 10,000huf or more per page depending on who and the standard of translation. Into Hungarian or into English will also affect the price as will other languages e.g. Hungarian to Japanese. (yes I do know one of those translators).

Just keep in mind what the translation is for, I had documents translated many years ago and the translator had to certify that it was a true translation of the original.
