For those who drive, here are the ongoing mobile speed camera locations on a daily basis. The minimum fine is 30,000 huf (as I found out)

When they fine you, do they also endorse your licence like in UK?

There seem to be a lot less speed cameras here than I see in the UK and of course your contribution to this particular revenue stream is entirely voluntary.

I believe you do get points on your licence, (20 years of driving here and I have yet to find out)

I do know that some time back the rules were changed to oblige the owner to disclose the name of the driver if it was not the owner driving. This closed a loop hole that allowed people to decline the information on the grounds that it would be giving evidence against a close relative, which you are not obliged to do.

I believe there is a points system but not for minor speeding offences. I certainly didn't receive any points when I got caught 2 years ago, just a fine through the post.
I had to travel into Sirok today and according to the web link I posted there should have been a camera car on the road I used at the time I was there but it was nowhere to be seen :D

A friend and former forum poster was fined but they didn't mention points so I don't think so but can't be sure.

I noticed them on the way to Miskolc last week. Don't think the police could have made much money because practically every car coming the other way was flashing their lights to warn drivers they were approaching a speed camera. I went passed two at a sedate 80 kms and hour!
