Lillafured - best time to visit throughout the seasons?

Just got back from Lillafured. We left late because a window shutters repair guy was coming round to see what needed to be done.
Left here about 11:30am. The car parks were full or jam packed like sardines. Decided to do another sweep of the car parks but it was ages before we found somewhere to turn around. Seeing the volume of cars going both ways decided to head home.
Had we left earlier I'm certain we'd have found a parking space.
Drove home halfway on Sport mode ...made alot of difference, better grip, cornering and powering up any incline.
So as per title does anyone know best time of the day, the day and the season to visit Lillafured. I think definitely a week day but weekends are probably a non-starter!

Autumn or winter on a weekday.

I thought local news reported the tourist places around Bukk and Liilafured were packed during the winter months there were issues with bad parking.

Haven't heard that. I've driven through Lillafured in summer during the week and early in the day and there was hardly anyone around.

I can't imagine you'll get as many tourists in the winter as you do at this time of year.

Everywhere is busy and will be until the end of September I expect. When I went to Hajdúszoboszló one mid September it was packed to the gills with tourists from Romania and Germany as well as Hungarians.

Just a thought. Why don't you join the FB group Új Miskolcon Láttam and ask them.

Until 4 days ago I would have suggested by far the best and most enjoyable way to arrive in Lillafured is aboard the Forest Railway from Miskolc (Where presumable it is also easier to park).
Unfortunately it is temporarily suspended for maintenance work.

It does have it's own website so you can check to see when the service will resume.

Only up the road for me, i did go late January when there was still snow on the ground, most of it was closed, completely different to when you go in the summer when the train is open etc. Only place open was the hotel and the restaurant near the lake.
