Re: Hungary Time Line

Thanks for that. The children really enjoy learning about Hungarian history, especially our local history. They recently discovered that our village was actually the Kis-puszta for a nearby village. Around 1574, a fortress was built near the village and the villagers moved 1 km south to be better protected. The villagers never returned to the original village. Hopefully this week we will manage a walk across the fields in search of the old village as there is supposed to be an old graveyard which the children will love. Wish we had a metal detector!

Useful yes, but very lame when it comes to the Media Law. But then Nick Thorpe (the BBC Hungary correspondent) is a bit biased. The stuff that never gets reported in the BBC about Hungary is astounding. Sorry, I am ranting again- will stop now....
