Hungarian Car Tax
 

Can I pay my Hungarian Car Tax Online? I'm in England at the moment...I know you normally pay this via Post Office in Two Instalments. Thanks

Hungarian car tax is paid to your local council. Each council will have different levels of electronic sophistication. It is unlikely that you will be able to pay online but you may be able to make a bank transfer. You should contact the council and ask them. We always pay both instalments at once because we never remember to pay the second instalment and unlike the UK it is not such a large amount.

have to start looking at all this now as we may register our car here & its like wading through mud.

Typically Hungarian system!
I have two cars, one the tax is paid with a yellow slip which is just shoved in my letter box (usually by the Mayor's daughter who lives opposite) the other is by bank transfer which arrives as a registered letter.
