How do you deal with Brexit friends

Re: How do you deal with Brexit friends
I don't have any friends, so no problem, :-)
Though at the moment I am happy with the brexit plan, if only because the £ has taken a very noticeably rise, hitting 400 fts for the first time in 4 years. and that my friends is an extra 10,000 fts a month in pension payment for nowt!
So I could afford to buy Fen a drink.

I won't dump any of my friends because of the way they voted but I won't stay in touch as often. This latest election was probably the most important one that I've experienced and leaving the EU has the potential to adversely affect me directly.
At the moment, no one knows just what will happen but I suspect that unless you are at least upper middle class then there will be few positives.

As far as I know none of my friends voted for brexit - if any did they're keeping very quiet about it and this is unlikely because, as we all know, brexiteers are incapable of holding their water!
Couple of relatives did vote for brexit, they have been declared PNG - & who needs them anyway!

Re: How do you deal with Brexit friends
I apologise if I have said anything to upset anyone. It's been a frustrating last four days. We have an ongoing issue with neighbours on one side. We have absolutely no idea what we have done to upset them except we were supposed to have bought their house back in 2005 but they pulled out not us! Ever since they have asked us four times if we wanted to buy their house and the answer has always been NO! We like our house and it has three things the neighbours house lacks ...... a garage, a szuperb bathroom not forgetting the kitchen with six gas hobs and extra wide oven! The neighbours put their house on the market two years ago then took it off then put it back on. The For Sale sign remained on their property all that time, even when their house was off the market. It is off the market once again!!! A couple of weeks ago I discovered my car had been vandalised on our driveway. I do have a suspect as to who I think did it and you can easily guess who that is! We keep finding rubbish on our side of the property, including some weird photos of someone next door, and I'm at the point whereby I feel like packing a bag and not coming back here ever again! The police are aware of what has been going on but have taken no action against them!

Re: How do you deal with Brexit friends
Thanks. I hope I can sell my UK house. That's the big worry. I might have to sell at a rock bottom price to get away from here. The sad thing is in the early days my wife made cakes and biscuits for next door. 9 times out of 10 we never got the plate back so my wife stopped making them anything. They borrowed our garden fork and damaged one of the forks. They borrowed a pair of pliers and lost them so replaced them with a cheap brand and poor quality! I've been really appalled at the neighbours treatment of their own children, i.e. smoking in the car with them in the back! It's been illegal since 2015.

A bit OT:
If you want to read horror stories about neighbours (mainly US, but other countries too) you might have a look at quora. They have questions and many people's answers.
PS There also many questions and answers re Brexit.

Not sure how this relates to your thread title though. Are you utterly stressed because of these neighbours who are not your friends . Or is it that you and your wife have been on the receiving end of the unsavoury from your own friends because of your wife's nationality. Or that your pals have been rather open regarding immigration and hopes for an UK EU exit without considering you and your wife's feelings because she is an immigrant herself.
Just trying to get a handle on things.

I'm sorry to read you are having horrible probs with your neighbours. I can relate to how stressful that is. We had nearly a decade of the neighbours from hell.
