Home insurance
 

Hi folks,
Any home insurance companies that you would recommend in Hungary? Or any that you would definitely avoid? I'm currently considering Allianz, they have a very clear and intuitive website (in English) and online claim processing, but curious to hear any experiences.

Currently with Generali but thinking of changing, simply because their current IT drives me mad; used to be ok.

I use Groupama for everything (car, house, etc.)

I'm not a fan of any insurance company tbh, they are all a necessary evil in my eyes

I use a local broker. He's a really nice guy, not pushy and always gives me impartial advice....and speaks perfect English.

I used Allianz initially probably because they will allow English, you can ring there phone support and they will arrange for an English speaking person to call you back.
But I discovered that they are more expensive so I changed to Genertel which is online only and only in Hungarian.
Of the two, maybe if using English and making claims is important, Allianz would be better.

I've been with Allianz for over 17 years. This year I objected to the increase in my car insurance so contacted them by phone and spoke to one of their English speaking consultants saying so with the result my insurance was reduced to what I considered a more reasonable amount.
