I see on Euro news warnings have been issued because of the high temperatures in Hungary, How good/bad is it?

Hot. Temperatures in Budapest have broken an 87 year record. It was up to 35.9 o C yesterday. It was 38 o C in Szeged. I can tell you I was baking at 35.9 degrees in Budapest- glad that I was not in Szeged. Thankfully we have air conditioning and an outdoor swimming pool. Budapest was deserted yesterday and today during the day- everyone was either hiding inside or at a furdo or strand.

The hottest was 39.1° in Túrkeve, 150 kilometres SE of Budapest. Broken the 10 July record of 37.5° in 1927 in Szeged!

Budapest was 38.4°

The absolute record was in Kiskunhalas 41.9° in 2007!

No outer shutter blinds? A bit dark in the house during the day but not so hot in the evenings ;-)

The large didgital thermometers in Eger were showing 38*c yesterday and it reached 53*c when the sun the thermometer on my terrace.
Too hot to work in the garden but not complaining as I love this weather.

It's the first time since buying here that the patio has been too hot to stand on barefooted. Must admit that I am starting to worry about some of our neighbours though as they are struggling to keep their crops alive and a bad harvest means less to eat through the winter
