Default Garden rules/regs

Where do I find information on the rules/regulaations regarding a garden of around 1,600 sqm in Zalavar (zala county)? I would like to know for example if you need to employ a gardener while in the UK? What are the gutters? in front (outside the gate/fence) of the house and who has to clean them? Are there any penalties and/or taxes to pay for the land (garden) every year? Do you need planning permission to knock down an old ruined brick shed in order to replace it or do you have to rebuild the old shed from its ruins?

Many Thanks

It will vary village by village depending on how keen the village is to enforce its own rules or to keep the village looking tidy or if somebody is fanatical about destroying parlak fu (a weed that causes a bad reaction in some folks).

In our home village they ARE fanatical about parlak fu, if you don't clear your garden/ plot twice a year, ie cut the weeds down to the ground, they will send you a letter giving you about 10 days' notice to clear it with the threat of a big fine if you don't. In reality, they are a bit more relaxed so if you get in contact asking for more time or at least make a start, you won't get fined. In another second village where we have a plot of land, the village 'mayoralty' ie council doesn't really care and it's enough to mow the front. In a third village which is more agricultural, we have a plot which a local farmer uses to grow lucerne/ alfalfa, they ARE fanatical about parlak fu, the plot has loads of parlak fu, but because it is in cultivation, they are not looking to fine us etc.

These fines are one way a village council can earn a bit of extra money so you need to be careful.

What is essential is to make sure you have a way for the polgarmesterseg (village council) to communicate with you if you are away.

There will be land taxes depending on classification of the property, ie residential, orchard, garden, planning plot etc.

In a village it's always best to check with the polgarmesterseg before you do stuff like knock down/ rebuild sheds. We had some friends who built something small & sheddy without permission and the council knocked it down (in the absence of their co-operation) and sent them a bill for HUF 1.5m for the work/ fine element.

The place to find the information is asking at the polgarmesterseg or other people in the village.

The polgarmesterseg also responds to complaints from your neighbours. If a neighbour complains about some aspect of your garden/ plot, they may dismiss it (there are a lot of stupid complaining neighbours) or they may do something about it, ie send you a letter to take action or be fined. Usually it would just be the overgrown plot, neighbours don't generally like them so they know that come 1. end May (wildly overgrown) and/ or 2. mid-August (parlak fu), they can force you to strim the plot down to the ground via the polgarmesterseg. It depoends how much is hidden, the council can't force entry to see if your garden is badly overgrown, so if you have a big fence and hedge, there's not a lot they will do.

And, Yes you will almost certainly be responsible for the area bordering your property.
This will include snow clearance from any footpath or pavement.

Found this one on idokep, with correct spelling, so it's ragweed? No idea what wormhole and goatfish are but they sound pretty dangerous weeds

ragweed
The ragweed concentration can still reach a very high level. Pollen of nettle and hemp will be present at medium to high concentrations. In some places the pollen concentration of wormhole and goatfish may reach a moderate level. The spore count of outdoor allergen mushrooms is in the high-very high range.
