The Free/Recycle Thread
In the UK, I regularly use a site where people recycle items they don't want by giving them away for free. This helps the environment, by putting less into landfill sites, as well as the giver and the taker.
The way it works is that you post on this thread the item and a description, including condition. If someone wants the item they contact you via PM and once they collect it they post on the thread that it has been taken. The subject line of the post should be either OFFERED, WANTED, RECEIVED or TAKEN.
So if you are looking for a wheel barrow, you would reply to the thread, put WANTED in the subject line and then details of the wheel barrow in the post. If you receive a wheel barrow then post on the thread with the subject line RECEIVED and in the post put wheel barrow.
ONLY reply or ask questions via PM to stop the post going off topic.
No advertising, selling, offering services.
No firearms, pornography or other offensive listings. No cats, dogs or other domestic pets, though livestock is allowed so long as it is free.
Please remember that all items are to be given free of charge. They are not being borrowed or swapped but given away permanently.
You are responsible for collection of the item so if for example, if you agree to TAKE a ton of top soil, please ensure you can collect it unless otherwise agreed with the giver, DO NOT assume they will deliver the item for you.

Hi, I'm just slightly concerned about the "giving away" on a temporary basis and then reoffering as basically it could end up as borrowing if the poster agrees with the lender to offer it back but give it to them.
Perhaps posts such as those would be better off in the general forum and keep the freerecycle thread purely for free give aways. What do you think, may be remove the last sentence in the post? Also, perhaps remove the section about condition of item as many people would be willing to take on broken items or items that could be restored and these might be in a dreadful condition.
Thanks for taking the time to post this and if you can't remove the sections let me know and I'll have it sorted.
One final request folks Please keep the thread on topic, no questions regarding items on the thread or it will become difficult to find the actual offers, thanks.

Re: Free/Recycle - Please note.
It's great that you are all getting together as a community and doing this, certainly helps community spirit. I just want to add though that this is not run, or organised by mods/admin/site owners, so you will need to sort out any issues between yourselves should anything go pear-shaped

Wanted - Old Beams
Hi, if anyone has old beams or thick planks of wood cluttering up their outbuildings, I would be more than happy to give them a new home. Condition isn't too important as they are for raised beds. Preferably within 1/2 hours drive from Kanisza, Egerszeg, Marcali or Keszthely.

Just a reminder about this thread if you have anything you need or want to give away before you take it to the dump!
