Re: Found in one of the outbuildings
I was going to ask what Hobgoblins second photo was but Peter_in_Hungary has answered the question. The father-in-law did have quite alot of "antique" gardening equipment but late last year he went decided to get rid of alot of stuff. Not sure what prompted him but I think he knew he wouldn't be around much longer and didn't want to leave too much stuff he had "hoarded" instead of chucking out. There's still some very good gardening tools left for making light work of removing weeds, etc.
I think I'm going to ask the sister-in-law for a lift to the nearest market selling such stuff to enhance the attractiveness or is it nostalgia of a home.

The attic is quite low so will only be able to have a peep what's in there. Hope anything I see is reachable. I don't fancy crawling along the attic flooring!

If you find something special but have no place to store it or time to restore it you could do as we did:
Before leaving our old house we asked around if anyone was interested in a gigantic bellows (almost two meters long and one meter wide) the former owner, a blacksmith, had left behind.
A guy told us there was a "village museum" in the neighbouring town - and they were very happy to get it (for free of course).

I also found this in the wood store and have since painted it and it looks really nice ! I am trying to find another one so I have a matching pair ... there must be lots of them sitting unwanted in outbuildings but finding them is another matter ! The couple over the lane discarded one last year on throw out day but unfortunately, there were two Roma lads with a van hiding around the corner and they pounced on it before I could ... !!
