My other half wants to go fishing and possibly take others out with him next year.

We have found out about fishing on Lake Balaton and that he needs a licence.

The next question is this: If he takes other people out in his boat does he need an annual licence for a certain number of rods? Or does his licence cover this?

He knows he'll need fishing tickets for each person each day.

Also, does anyone have any info regarding fly fishing away from Lake Balaton?

Is it done in Hungary and if so, do they fish for Salmon and/or Trout?

Salmon or trout............. I wish - can barley even buy the fish here, never mind catch them. One of my few gripes about Hungary is the lack of decent edible fish - lake fish is, in my opinion, vile - no matter what you do to it, you can't disguise the muddiness.

Rumours say that there are some trout in the Drava but I don't think so. Best bet is Slovenia

Regards the license. Don't know for sure but I would imagine day tickets would be sufficient for extra rods.

"legally" each person must have a Hungarian fishing licence, obtained by taking a fishing test...welcome to the land of bureaucracy!
On the other hand if you happen to know someone then they might just turn a blind eye
