Default EU Election

Today we received a letter inviting us to vote in the Hungary EU ELection. The letter states that you have to be a citizen of a Member State of the EU which we are at the moment but may not be by the time of the election in May. I would really like to vote in the EU election and was wondering what others are going to do?

Register according to the letter received. At least you then have the choice of voting, not voting or spoiling your ballot paper. Without registering you can't do anything. If Brexit gets in the way - that is crash out without a deal on the 29th then you can't vote - no choice there, but almost any other scenario you will get a vote.

A couple of EU elections ago I as invited to attend as an invigilator at my local polling station. An interesting exercise, with tea, coffee and cakes all day long, supplied by the women of the village.

P.S. I got the same letter

I got the same letter and the form, just in Hungarian ...
Before the last elections I also got these plus an accompanying letter in German and English (if I remember correctly) that said in the case I agreed they'd inform the German local election office so I wouldn't vote twice - which some people managed to do.
But since there is no party here in Hungary for me I'll vote again in Germany (I'm a green).
