Hello all! Could someone recommend an English-speaking real estate agent in Budapest? I know the prices have gone up, but we're finally in a position to buy something and would like to do so before prices go up even more!
Also looking for any recommended lawyer, accountant, and mortgage broker who all have experience with real estate for home as well as investment.

As a side question, anyone experienced with buying foreclosed flats and then selling them for profit? Is it worth the hassle?

I don't think you can make money by speculative property purchase in Hungary because you will have to pay a tax similar to capital gains tax on any profit if you keep the property less than 5 years. I suggest you also ask on the Hungary Expat groups on Facebook for estate agents but English is spoken quite widely in Budapest.

In the village, north east of Hungary, where my wife's family live I've noted properties being on the market for years before they finally get sold. According to my sister-in-law most properties are well over what they are worth so you would be paying over the odds if this is applied to Budapest.
