Default Driving through Hungary in September.

Hi, we are planning to drive through Hungary from Slovenia early September to Constanta Romania in September. I was wondering what kind of temperatures we could expect, and any good stop off points etc. We will be travelling back with three dogs that we are adopting from a rescue shelter there. All help, advise gratefully received

Maximum temps are usually around the mid 20's but dropping at night.

Haha, we wish!! 40 in July/August would be a possibility but it would have to be an Indian summer to see that in September - now I've said that, it probably will be

40 odd years ago a friend of my mother told her he always takes the 3rd week in September for a holiday as it is generally always nice weather (in the UK)

For the last 20+ years I have done the same, mainly because my employer required the years holidays to be booked at the beginning of each year, and with very very few exception it has always been a good week weatherwise.

Indeed, it will be nice but averaging 23-24 max. 2010 bit a bit cooler and I think September averaged around 18 though you usually have a few days in the high 20's up to low 30's but nowhere near 40 - though I have had a few erm beverages today so memory a bit hazy........
