Default Croatian earthquake felt in Hungary

Yesterday I had my first experience of a minor earthquake It came from the Croatian quake that featured on the TV news. It took a while to realise what was happening and when the penny dropped - we went outside to be safe - just in case. An uncomfortable feeling but no damage, the hall light was swinging about 1cm and the pendulum clock stopped (I suspect due to the swing being disrupted)

Hungary gets 4 - 5 earthquakes on the scale of 2.5 to 3.5 (felt but no damage) a year. For anyone interested Home - www.seismology.hu gives lots of data about seismic activity in Hungary

We felt nothing in Buda but going to an antique shop in Pest in the afternoon the owner told us that her chandeliers had been swinging - that was our first indication of effects being felt in Hungary.

Felt nothing. My colleagues in Budapest felt it. Swinging christmas trees apparently.

We felt it down here near Kaposvar. It lasted maybe 10-12 seconds. We heard some of our glasses and dishes making a slight noise and the light fixture in the dinning room swayed just a little.

I was in my car driving home from doing some shopping and didn't feel anything at all. I have felt earthquakes before though in South Africa and once when I was a teenager in the UK.

I did feel the previous one that did a lot of damage in Zagreb but I was not aware of this one until I read about it on Facebook. Makes me glad that my house has reinforced concrete ceilings.
