Can anyone tell me if it is available here in Hungary, I looked at the forums but info is outdated.

Tesco sells it, kukorica liszt. is fairly common in the Hungarian kitchen.

To expand a bit on what wolfi said, Keményitő is the stuff to get and it is corn starch (at about 86%). We use it for thickening and making custard (much cheaper than buying custard powder). Kukorica liszt which translates as corn flour is maize ground to a flour and is used to make recipes such as Puliszka which is like semolina pudding but made with maize rather than wheat. Kukorica liszt will not behave as a thickener like the corn flour as sold in the UK.
