Default Chemical Toilet

Does anyone know where to buy the chemicals for a chemical toilet? I was only aware of the Thetford brand but a search on UK Ebay revealed there are lots of others. In UK every big town seems to have a caravan showroom where they sell such things but caravans don't seem popular in Hungary.

Hi

I found a caravan dealer with a shop selling Thetford WC chemicals locally in Balatonfuzfo. Bit far for you I am guessing. Try putting Lakokocsi bolt into a search engine. Hopefully there will be a dealer nearer you.

Thanks Cathy. Do you have a caravan yourself then? I did a search on the Thetford site and there was no dealer within 100 Km of Zalaegerszeg or Varazdin (Croatia). I'm not too far from the lake but Balatonfuzfo is 162 Km from my place.

Used to have a caravan on a seasonal pitch near Woolacombe. Then got an old Hymer motorhome and did some travelling. Had to sell it to fund renovation work here Friends of ours have just bought a caravan here so was having a look around to see what the prices are like here. Must admit really miss our motorhome, back to a tent at the moment.... Not good at my age !!

We have only just bought our caravan can't wait to try it out.
I think we will try it out here in Hungary first so if there is something we don't know I can at least ask here but can't in another country LOL.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up ordering a German product called Enders Ensan Blue 5 litres from Amazon Germany. I hope I didn't do something wrong when ordering as I appear to be getting free delivery from Germany to Hungary!
The only trouble is, they quote 7 to 21 working days for delivery.
Yes Cathy, I miss my old camper. I have a 1976 Toyota Hiace coachbuilt camper that I bought a few years ago on Ebay for £310 with full MoT. It is still in Scotland as it would cost too much in petrol to drive it the 1600 miles at 20mpg!

If the worse comes to the worse you'll have to revert to using a chamberpot!

Brings back memories.... We met many a hymer owner during our year out when we traveled Europe and Morocco - would love to do it again now the kids are older as, apart from my eldest daughter, they remember little about it.

I know, we spent five months in 2007 travelling around. Spent several weeks in Hungary exploring, fell in love with Slovenia and had exciting adventures in Romania. Trouble is I want to go back to all those places and do more of Croatia. Haven't really got the time at the moment but back to the OT and at my age I like to have my home comforts with me like a loo! Here is a pic of our old Hymer.

Love the Hymer, wish I had a photo of ours - it was an old Talbot conversion, 26 feet long and a nightmare to drive at times but we had fun. You should try Morocco if you ever get the chance, total culture shock but an experience you won't forget. Okay Rural Sorry Fib

This is my Toyota. It looks better in the photo than in real life. The cab looks like it was painted using a yard broom!

I didn't use it a lot but it did manage the 500 mile run to my parents place in England one time.

Looks like a caravan cut up and hacked onto a Toyota truck!
