Default Anyone Ever Purchase something listed on Jofogas COD?

Wondering about making a long distance purchase of an item listed on Jofogas. Specifically purchasing an item that the seller list as being available COD shipping and paying the delivery person. Before you all start saying not to do so, Yes, I know the inherent risk of being ripped off but the item I am considering purchasing is not a real high cost item. We will take a chance.

Any idea what the COD delivery fee is for an item that probably weighs 15KG maximum?

Magyar Posta or GLS? or ?

Do the delivery folks accept cash still?

Not done it with Jofogas but have had lots of things delivered cash on delivery and never had a problem with GLS and DHL and the like. It's pretty normal and my wife won't do anything else as she doesn't trust any company here at all!! I would imagine Magyar Posta would do the same. Our local Posta van will accept payment for cseks etc (but we are in a very rural area with lots of elderly).

Cost I have no idea, wouldn't imagine it would be hugely expensive with the Posta. As long as it is a reputable firm should be ok? Then it is just about the seller, but we have bought a few things from JOfogas and it's been ok so far. Usual stuff applies just like free ads in the UK.

Likewise, I've bough a few stuff cod and never had a problem.
The only thing is, like any parcel delivery, you sign to say the item is received and n good condition and the driver disappears before you get chance to open it and check it.

Likewise, I have bought a few things COD, which seems quite common in Hungary.

Eg plants from these people - I can highly recommend
Profi Faiskola Pécs

Very good quality & low prices

Thanks Park Fella, for the link to the garden center. I may have a trip down there next spring for some shrubbery to place along a boundary fence..

I decided to take a chance on doing the COD on two items from different sellers, some used parts for a Yamaha scooter and decided to also gamble on a used Stihl strimmer. I will let you know how it went.

Hi, Just looking in from the France forum.
Afraid I can't offer any advise re COD payments or Jofogas, but wanted to add a few comments about that web site.
I'd never heard of it, but the site appears quite similar to the French LeBonCoin, from which I often make purchases.

I've just spent a very interesting hour on Jofogas (so thanks for the reference) just checking out some items and comparing prices for similar items on the French site.
Two things which amaze me; the relatively low prices and also the number of sellers who include delivery charge in their selling price. Never seen that before - with the exception of one major Asian site.
My retirement hobby is collecting vintage IBM laptop computers, and renovating 1992- 2011 Apple/Mac laptops (which Apple stores and resellers no longer want to know about!) and although many vintage items appear overpriced on Jofogas, many more recent Apple laptops are imho priced incredibly low.
Needless to say, I can't speak a word of Hungarian - what a difficult language that looks - but copy/pasting into Google translation allowed me to understand the ads pretty well. Having said that, some of the ad translations - all associated with computer sales - appear as sheer classic bloopers, and provided some much needed humour this Fri morning. Here are a few well-worth sharing:

"Guaranteed in 2019, is a guarantee."
"On board the usual usage trace, display unblemished, to eat it. "
" The machine served for years, but my poor was tired of work, she would spend her retirement years, thankful for her employment was abundantly enough for this, she reached the age limit."
"If you see fantasy in it, you can get some food for a few thousand pounds. "
" In sleep mode, it changes to the folded screen, like a jumbo technician, can not rest. "
" Macbook Pro 17 ", except for everyday use, I do not add FBI files, private inquiries, tractors, sponged husks, and hajdú boilers are not replaced if we do anything else here. "
Still associated with laptop ads, my personal favourites:-
" It has a nice weight, but it is movable, its surface is ideal for gardening, its weight is a quick remedy for minor family disputes."
" It's useful if you want 360p youtube Kisgrofó mix you want to listen for a long time, 4k! porn will be taken by AMD video card."

Keep smiling!

Reporting back on my gamble on COD with Jofogas. I purchased a used Stihl Fs350 strimmer and the transaction went smooth. Got a still very usable strimmer with lots of life left in it for 105000 forints including delivery and everything. Seller even through in a brand new brush blade and new harness. So all in all great experience. Same deal with the scooter parts.
