yes the declaration is still required.

This is correct. They specifically asked for it when we went to VHS Birmingham in person.

I did one in case, but I thought it was included in the application form: section J. - Declaration

... not so?

well according to them, we do not own property  If you just fill in your app. v. form you do not see what you are or are not eligible for.

I have just read the declaration (I may have signed one last year but do not remember) it is a bit of a catch all to absolve VFS of any liability for anything. There is something in contract law relating to unfair terms which could possibly nullify this if someone had a problem with it but I will sign it as no doubt will everyone else who wants a visa even though VFS have no say in the actual granting of the visas, your documents have to get to the high commission via VHS after all. I always go to the counter and smile and greet the person politely no matter how fed up I am with waiting.
I also take a book to read and a bottle of water - Just like in Goa.

"All the applicants are requested to sign the declaration and submit the same along with the Visa Application Form. Please Click here to Download/Print the Declaration."

Yes that is what I did.
Just checked the photocopy of my application.
I think it is possible that the application form for long term X visas is different from the tourist visa form.

Can I edit the Form once it is printed?

The online form cannot be edited once it has been printed. Please ensure that you verify all the information you enter before you finally submit the application and take a print out. IN case of an error, you would have to redo a new application form.

Can I confirm all my travel bookings before getting the visa?

No bookings or travel arrangements should be confirmed until a visa decision has been made. VF Services will not be responsible for any loss of expenses borne.

Blonde and senior moment :thumbdown:my problem is I have just noticed I have not put in where I am staying when I get there!! BUT if you should not book before you get your visa, how could you say where you are staying!!

Suppose I should do it again - what do you think?:banghead::banghead:

If i remember correctly Noni that question doesn`t actually come up on the on-line form.
If you are going in person to hand it in I`d be inclined to leave it blank and ask whether or not you should fill it in by hand when there.

Thanks, Bipat has said the same on "Rants" thread. Had a guy call here to-day he and eleven others have booked a place in Kerela and are having problems filling in the application form - another 12 who think they will not go back to India. They did not know about the Declaration form!

no the "declaration form" isn`t actually that obvious and I don`t remember it being on the list of things to remember(or whatever that list is called).
I double checked thro the site as I`d read about it on here or another forum!
many people obviously miss it as they have copies at the application centres (or at hayes) that they give out to those lacking them!!!!!

hope all goes well Noni.

I have checked back on this and as far as I can see the Declaration required by HCI is on the Application form - the extra stuff on the separate Declaration Form is just arse-covering for VFS as a private company. I reckon they'd be on thin ice if they refused to forward your visa app, because you hadn't done their form.

As to re-doing your app - isn't your passport number blocked as soon as you've put an app in?

God knows! As you can see above you have to do a new application form. Going to leave it blank and take it with me to Visa Office on Monday.

Noni Just read your post with interest as I am about to do mine next week. I know I should know this but I don't. I havn't looked at the site in quite a while as have been back in Europe 5 months now and have taken several holidays and realised there is so much more to see and visit and all without the hassle and stress of Goa. This has made me put all thoughts of Goa out of my mind ( and I feel I have succeeded, hence my uncertainty now I have to get started on the annual visa run ). So sorry for asking the obvious but: having filled in the form online and taken a print out, do you have to make an appointment with VFS to hand it in or do you just turn up? I don't want to post mine but hand it in personally? For obvious reason don't want to drive all the way there if I need to have made an appointment first. If I need a appointment how do I do it? Online too? Comments and help much appreciated.
