Low fat Currys

I am on a very low fat diet and do not want to destroy 6 months of dieting in a couple of weeks in Goa.
Apart from the tandoor does anyone have any other ideas of what I will be able to eat that does not contain a gallon of oil.

You can eat European food almost anywhere. Also the salads are to die for.

The coconut in goan currys gives a high fat content. The lowest fat meal would be plain dal and rice with baked or griddled fish. European food will be fried in oil. Salads are a risk unless you are sure of the hygiene. A poorly washed salad could really be 'to die for'

I'm a great lover of dal & rice so I may try to persuade our local restaurant to cut back on the oil. It's difficult as I love all the food but hopefully I won't be on this diet forever and its a small price to pay for good health.
I presume that almost anything that has been cooked in the tandoor should be virtually fat free?
I do eat the salads if we are in a restaurant that we trust, luckly I have not had any problems for many years, I think the hygiene has improved from what it used to be like.

The problem is that I can eat european food at home it's the curry's I crave for. I keep telling myself it won't be forever, and by the time we visit again I should be allowed a more varied diet.

The first time I tried fish curry rice it turned up with heads tails etc, mind you that was a long time ago. I think it probably containes coconut which has a high fat content so probably not a good idea.

Like you, I have never had a problem with salads in Goa. I also like to try and stick to a low fat diet. Go for food that is grilled and you can usually get jacket potatoes instead of chips. I find it quite easy to follow a low fat diet in Goa.

I am going to have a good try to stick to it.

Tandoori marinade is probably made with full-fat curds (saturated fats), I think coconut milk/ oil is 'good' (unsaturated) fat.
The chicken tika at Sher e Punjab is more like shashlik (OH's favourite), and while there you can order Mutton Rogan Josh (my favourite from there) as takeaway - put it in the fridge and you can, if you wish, lift the fat off and discard (or feed to dogs with surplus rice/ bread).

P.S. a diet too low in fat can cause joint problems.
P.P.S it's scientifically proven that dieting makes you fat (unless you do it forever - a grim prospect!)

I am following the slimming world health eating plan, so I can eat lean meat & seafood, but no added oils and fats. This is for ever and not a quick fix, my knees have worn away and I need to get the weight off them.
I will just have to be careful. We are only there for 10 nights, so i will try to do lots of walking & swimming.
Where is the Sher e Punjab?

I know where you mean, not been there before so it will be good to try somewhere new. Often go to the Delhi Darbar OH not too keen on driving in Panjim as we usually get lost
