Here I come... Again!
Hi, to All...
Got to be in Goa towards the 23 May and was wondering if there is anything interesting (or open) at this time of the year!! By this I mean where to eat (late) and where to have a good drink and 'chinwag' or is it going to be the case of lights out by 9:00 pm? Have been visiting Goa since 1984 (should have bought a lot of property then!!;)) and my recent development of apartments in Candolim means that I have to finalise the sales of a couple.... Living in sunny Australia now (London prior), and looking forward to having a good relaxing time -- well deserved. PS --I see a lot of posts on this forum from British expats regarding the buying / selling of properties in Goa, I don't seem to have encountered this probleim thus far. My conversations with the legal people there seem to suggest that as long as there is a genuine reason there is always a legal way to remain / own property in Goa and indeed India.... Nonetheless, as I mentioned in my post - to the best of my belief that if there was genuine reason to stay / live in India (whatever the LEGAL definations may be) my experts whom I have used on numerous occassions both to buy (and sell in Goa and in the rest of India for that matter) have told me that there are legal avenues to do so ! (I emphasize this point). I am fortunately not a legal advisor or a lawyer for that matter. My post was just relating to my forthcomming visit and the rest is self explanatory.... Ps I don't about the FN bit (not used to this abbreviation) however if this means a Foreign National, then this again leads to more questions VIZ. indian origin (or not), company with actual business (as opposed to simply owning a property) or not, turn over per annum ... property owned by developer on a long lease ... etc I was hoping to find the answers for myself and thus the second part of the post. Regards BBQ-KING:thumbup::thumbup: Sorry about the greeting you have received, but there is an obsession on here with property purchase issues as so many members are being persecuted by the authorities. And don't worry if you are a developer or builder, I don't think its against the rules on here yet. Quite honestly I would have thought that those among us with property issues would be welcoming you with open arms as someone who could maybe give some good advice? I only left North Goa less than a week ago and everything was closing down much earlier in the year than usual, quite dramatically so actually. Obviously you know that by the time you arrive the monsoon will be imminent and it will be very hot and humid, therefore it is the time when most people who need to leave for a while, do so. Its why I am back in the UK to try to get visas. Of course there will be some places open, you will just have to look around a bit more than usual perhaps. Having said that, if you are in Candolinium, there are so many places, some of them will still be there. So I hope you have AC where you will be staying, and please carry on posting on this forum in the future.......... |

What i dont understand is why someone is selling property in Goa to others and at the same time dosent know the current position/stalemate . Its not like there is'nt enough warnings out there now thanks to sites like this. This is how the whole thing spiralled out of control in the first place. OMG .........De ja vu all over again......i just havent enough Noffi for this!:blink: |

Some have been encouraging :thumbsup:- Thanks Noni your feedback has been most welcome - you lessened the 'blow' as I almost regret posting in the first place!! My post was as simple as wanting to find a place to hang out.. and having bothered to read about what was happening in Goa, I thought about maybe putting heads together to eventually helping each other out (through free advise via my Lawyer who is very efficient in these matters, I have used him in various developments in India without a probleim thus far!) Some have been downright pointing accusations (unfounded and possibly CLUELESS)!! :frown:to him / her all I got to say is that get a life and chill out! If you are so stressed in Goa (As I gather from your posts) , then there is no hope.... Finally I must add: Yes, I have developed properties at various places Yes, I have good legal teams in place No, I am not an agent (I do not advertise my properties- they are sold by word of mouth / repeat clients who possibly sell on, and I currently DO NOT wish to sell any more apartments in Goa as I intend to keep the remainder for myself) Having lived the Goan experience many many times myself,:eek: I must add that I wish you all (whatever your designation) all the best going forward and hope you enjoy the excellent hospitality of the good people you are fortunate to live amongst!;) BBQ-KING:fingerscrossed: |

My clients are FN's and have either PIO cards or OCI cards and there has been no issues registering for them in the past. I must add we have not attempted any registrations within the last year, and will be able to find out more once I am in Goa. BBQ-KING |
