Grumpy Old Men/Women
So....went to Birmingham yesterday to visit the VFS. Birmingham New Street station - 30 pence to use the toilet facilities.
It's illegal to urinate in the street (and rightly so) but it's not illegal to not have any cash on you. What then??? Unbelievable! |

Birm. station is gradually being renovated perhaps they will get cash machines as in London stations. The worst thing at Birm. is having to run up the stairs at speed when a platform is changed at last minute (no time to use the lift). Not all the platforms have escalators . |

Always nervous of train toilets in case I get the locking system wrong!. Have been on a train when someone pressed the emergency button by mistake.

It's not something you have a choice about. How dare they charge!!! |

Cash machines?....they do have them in Birmingham. It's not the not having cash because you've not been to a machine, perhaps some people don't have 30 pence to spare!

He just shot Alan down with laughter and 'what a stupid question'. |

I am scottish and I was not offended about him asking the driving instructor how he kept us all sober enough to teach. His 'bloomers' may not be very PC but I don't think they should really be taken seriously. This is the man that said, about his daughter, if it doesn't fart and eat hay she's not interested'! :)

Re: Grumpy Old Men/Women
Why should it be free to use a toilet? If it is a public toilet there might just might be a case however when the afore mentioned facility is part of a commercial business why should it be free? Someone has to pay for the cleaning, for the paper, not to mention the water rates and electricity! Would you consider putting a notice outside your home on the lines of ''Caught Short? Feel free to use my toilet, just ring the bell; no charge". Why should anyone expect something for nothing?
