Have you finished your packing now? See you soon |
Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!
Finished? Not even started yet. I will get it done over the weekend in between all the other things we've got to do
I will give you a call once we have sorted out our Indian sim, I don't think the one we bought in April will still be working. It will be nice to see things coming to life ready for the season after we saw it all closing up in April. Not long to go now - yippee. |

I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on this - does anyone know the people concerned? Has anyone heard from their advocates what the significance is? It does look like some sort of progress! AndyD 8-)# |

AndyD 8-)# Have a look at some of my post#26 on What Beach Shack Do You Use? Also, I met a FN property owner yesterday who had taken his notarised Sale Deed to the Calangute Panchayat to make House Tax payment. Without reading it, they refused to take payment and said "you might as well tear that up and throw it in the sea. You are a foreigner; your purchase is illegal". No point in telling him he has absolutely no authority to make such a dismissive and aggressive ruling, because there's no arguing logic or proper case with these people. This was Albert Fernande's panchayat administration which is still the subject of a no confidence vote now being contested in the High Court, so hurry back Joseph is what I say. At least he was a happy refuser on most matters. Best Wishes. |

Their definately starting to up the anti and this is resulting in FNs responding in the same way......does not bode well for interactive relations in Goa between locals and FNs......if this continues we're going to end up with a 'them and us' scenario which would be very counter productive for Goa. The blame lies fairly and squarely with the corrupt politicians.....who are the real bleeders of Goa.....not the FNs. Regards, Remy |

Do they want tourists, Do they want the locals to have food on their tables next monsoon. it really pains me that u dream for years , plan and then buy your dream home , only to be told that you really can't own it! why can't these guys adopt a middle path for e.g a cut off date and say any one who buys after this date will not be able to own the property. This way one is sufficiently forewarned and those who have already invested will not be loosers. By the way same principle can be adopted by the uk government with regard to indian doctors!! may the new year really put some sense in those ......heads occupying mighty chairs. pai-s |
