If you object to the plans to expand how they spy on you and me sign up to an organisation called 38 degrees. It will not cost you anything although like this website you can make donations.

The problem is that it cannot always be known in advance who is a potential terrorist or major criminal.
However such information should only be available to police etc. in particular circumstances and with a warrant.

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
You are right in that the authorities may not know in advance who amongst us are terrorists or criminals but that does not mean that they should have the right to spy on individuals without good cause.

The Marigold Hotel filmis based on the novel "These Foolish Things" -which was written in the days when 5 year x visas were regularly given out to Brits.
Unfortunately the film makers overlooked the change to visas when they made the film.
Womder how many people will be sucked into thinking they can be non Indian origin expats in India due to the feel good factor of this film
Dread - x

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Hope he checks out his legal standing first - unless of course he has a bit of Indian in him
Apart from the purchase of property, why to you call this article "crap"?
Ignoring Tourist ..........impossible
How about Employment? Do you read about how difficult it is to get one of them? And the salary to qualify? No poblem with cost of living then!
Business? No right to remain, so useless.
So lets ignore visas too.
Cultural differences and integration? Aren't we talking about expats here.................. or immigrants?
Oh sorry that wouldn't make any difference either.
Read it again and see if you still think its wonderful, or just a collection of glib generalisations
Yours gratefully
An Ex-ex-pat
