Default Medical Insurance

I have mentioned before about German companies intend to put up their rates. Well the first one - AOK have done just that although it has not been approved. He had to pay arrears of over 8000euros. If you hear of it happening please let us know.

"He had to pay arrears of over 8000euros."
Does't make sense. AOK charges monthly contributions. When the price,%tage of income, goes up, you pay 0.5% or whatever more per month. No back pay unless you never paid when you were supposed to pay.

Probably what happened is he had the wrong insurance and got nailed with back contributions. Problem is Germany doesn't have universal healthcare like the UK so it's easy to get it wrong
