Die Wende
I just watched a 2014 film focussed on events in Rostock-Lichterhagen after the "Changes". Food for thought. And a chance to practrice my german. The miracle of Netflix is that I can sit in my wee flat on my Scottish islnad and wacth a German film. Netflix !

And then I watched the 2014 production "Sarajevo", about the events in Boisnia that led to WW1 and the deaths of 17 million people.

On the subject of "Die Wende" (The Changes) I watched with interest the German film about the assassination of the Head of Treuhand in 1991.
