I spoke to my girlfriend the other night, and she reckons the very cheapest possible rent that may be possible to track down in Paris itself, would be 400 euros a month. You'd only get a shoebox for that, but if you're surviving by yourself for a year, it might be ideal as it would surely cut down on your travelling time and expenses, and you'd probably be out and about most of your days anyway.
