This afternoon we suddenly heard one hell of a din outside. An almighty hailstorm which within minutes transformed the garden into a snow-like scene. I took a few snaps, one of which attached.




Now this region in the SW, an hour+ drive north of Toulouse is no stranger to light hailstorms which on occasion can cause damage to the grape harvests, but in the 12 years we've been here I've never seen (or heard) such a violent storm, which would have severely damaged the bodywork of many cars if parked in open spaces.
Anyone else experienced similar today?

At least you have some ice for your drink, before we left Ariege I remember a hail storm that trashed most the cars that had been left outside.

Yes I too in the past have seen a number of cars which look as if they've been attacked with ball-peen hammers, such is the force of many hail storms.

We didn't have hail this time but so much rain as one couldn't believe. we had to stop the car on the way out of town and even les Gilets Jaunes ceased operations!
