Virtual Phone number
Hi All,
I`d like to get a virtual Paris landline which I can then forward to my mobile or any other phone. Something that works just like an 0800 number,
I have found several operators that will sell a paris phone number and specialise in forwarding that on to another country, but I am based here and I just don`t want an 0800 number on my website
Many thanks
Geoff

I may be stating the obvious, but have you googled "téléphone fixe virtuel"? There are several results that might be of interest.
Some one more technically minded (and/or younger!) will soon come along to help...

they can provide you with a French telephone number in very much the same way as they can port your English number onto their system so you maintain continuity of service to clients.
I have no connection to this company (and they are not the only ones who do this) but I will be transferring my UK numbers when I move to Spain for both personal and business purposes. At £2 per month its much cheaper than paying BT or Virgin or anyone else. Their system runs a bit like Skype.

Re: Virtual Phone number
if you are with voipfone then I will be joining you in a months time.
so long as you have the internet connection then porting your number to such VOIP providers is a viable system for anyone not just business. So long as you stay within the rules, similar to Skype, at a cost of £2 per month is far and away cheaper than the landline system. And people can call you at no extra cost, to them its a local call.
why didnt I go down this avenue earlier, it would have saved me a fortune

I`ll be diverting to my mobile a lot of the time which is quite expensive @ 16p/m but it is with everyone else as well! & only 1.5p/m to divert to landline!
I was actually on my way to Andalucia on 1st September, got diverted to Paris by an old friend & won`t get there until spring / summer next year...
Hope your move goes well & thnks again for your help
Best wishes
