UK STATE PENSION MOVING TO FRANCE
Hi all, may i take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to the community, we are Phill and Sara both British nationals currently living in the UK but both ready and willing to move to and reside in France,( albeit at a very early stage and able to obtain as much info as possible) Our first concern is my state pension as i am 69 years of age and in receipt of the UK state pension, if anyone is able to answer the following questions, this would be very helpful at this time
1 Would i continue to receive my State pension living in France
2 Would my wife wife who is currently 60 years old be eligible for her State pension in 7 years time
3 Would we continue to receive our state pensions having taken French residency.
All comments, replies and advice would be extremely helpful at time
just to add that i have contacted the DWP here in the UK but had no reply
Thanks in anticipation Phil and Sara

Definitely more complicated with many things such as visas etc, but pensions seem to not be affected thankfully!

Re: UK STATE PENSION MOVING TO FRANCE
As christmasoompa has said and provided a link to, the answer to all your questions so far is Yes.
Some questions you may want to ask further down the line are less black and white, but leaving the UK doesn't affect your right to claim your UK pension once you reach UK pension age, and to keep receiving it for as long as you keep breathing. You won't have any issues with that.
It may however mean you don't get the pension increases that you would have got if you'd stayed in the UK, that is more complicated and I don't know for sure what the answer is.
I believe you won't be eligible for the WFA if you move to France but I'm not even sure WFA is still a thing, do people still get that or has it been knocked on the head?

Re: UK STATE PENSION MOVING TO FRANCE
The OP will need a Visa to move to France and will need private health insurance for the application and proof that they reach the minimum income requirement which I believe is 1231 euros after tax per month. If the OP only has the state pension that will not be enough
