transfering money from UK to France

Does anybody know how much it costs to transfer large amounts of money from a UK bank to a French one? Does it depend on the bank?
thanks

Why don't you ask your bank?

Well I certainly won't ask Best of Italy for any advice about Italy.
    :-)
As a matter of interest, my bank HSBC made it easy. For small amounts (up to
Pounds2000 equiv in Euros) use Worldpay for maximum cost of Pounds 9. Or for
large amount use Priority payment using Swift. The details are on this
http://www.ukbusiness.hsbc.co-
m/mrp/mrp00095.jsp

As long as the French bank is in the same clearing network then it's easy.

Natwest Charge £10 for a transfer upto £100,000 and it takes 3 working days.
Zurich Bank also charge £10 for an unlimited transfer.

HSBC Uk to HSBC France or CCF France is a flat fee of £10 regardless of amount. Otherwise its between £7 & £9 for amounts under £2000 and for over this amount it starts at £15.
