Default Stationary supplies - board back envelopes

Do I win a prize for the most boring thread ever posted in the French expats forum?!

I send a lot of items via the post weekly, much to the groans and sighs of La Poste (somebody's got to give these public servants some work to do!). I send a lot of stuff in rigid board backed 'do not bend' A4 sized envelopes, which I used to purchase from Viking Direct - around 20 pounds for 120. After a 5 week episode involving much phoning and emailing, I eventually got an Office Depot catalogue (they have all the niceday products like Viking Direct UK), but nothing suitable on the board backed envelope front, only very flimsy backed envelopes.
I tried www.raja.fr who had a good deal going on, but when they arrived they were about 100gsm and I discovered they were too flimsy also. To upgrade to a more rigid size they wanted another 60 euros.

Basically I'm finding it hard to find a supply of rigid board backed envelopes and at a respectable price (I appreciate I probably can't get them at a good a deal as I did in the UK). I'm trying to find a solution before my dwindling UK supplies run out completely - anybody know where else I can go? Has anybody actually made it to the end of my post?!

After a quick shuffle through Google, I found that although Staples have store in the USA, Germany and Portugal, I can't see whether they deliver to France. They certainly don't from the UK. I found a place called "Euroffice" which delivers all over, but couldn't find the product you mentioned. Here's the link -

http://www.euroffice.co.uk/g/9g4/Envelopes-and-Bags

Maybe you will have better luck!

Edit - Just rechecked, and their EURO title is misleading, seems they deliver all over the UK.... (Sorry!)

Found another -

Thanks Jazzy very kind of you! I found the envelopes on there, although they are more than twice the UK prices. Still cheaper than Raja though for the better grade of board back envelope. I'll keep searching and see what I find. I'd really like to find a French supplier, because the boxes can be quite heavy.

Just caught your update. Interesting website interface to their catalogue. They have what I want although it's £45 compared to a shade over £20 I was paying. At least if I get desperate I can get a stash, but I'll keep searching to see if it's possible to get cheaper.

Well GJB, you've certainly set an exceedingly high 'low' target. Let's see who can come up with anything lower than low......

Darn, okay, what if I don't speak French (and I really don't speak it well at all), and want to run a gite (and I am actually looking to do this in a few years time). I certainly don't have a lot money, but I ALSO want cheap board-backed envelopes for my side-line business (as gites don't pay too much)!?
Perhaps the specialist envelope element adds a little bit too much interest to the subject though?

Val, correct me if I'm wrong, but it's your birthday today?! There must be a million and one more interesting things to be doing than reading about my board backed envelope woes! If I win an award for the most boring post, you'll get the prize for the most number of replies to the most boring post. Hope you have celebration plans for this evening!

you're right, it is my birthday, but our son's girlfriends mom had a heart attack last week and has been in surgery since early this morning having a quadruple by-pass. It didn't seem right going out and having a good time, especially as the kids are sitting at the hospital waiting for news. We are probably going out for supper later though once we know how things have gone. Being on BE has given me a welcome diversion. What would we do without it.

Hey Val, I am sorry to hear that - it does put things into perspective. I hope you get to have your meal later, and if specialist envelopes offer a welcomed distraction I'm sure I can think up many more interesting threads ranging from the French method of washing up to how to squeeze a smile out of a Parisian.
Perhaps I can introduce you to a couple of my friends that live in a park down the road from me. I took my brother and his wife over there to see and feed the coypu. Asides from their ugly stained teeth they are cute critters and very gentle.

Thanks L'Acajou, I do have the Office Depot catalogue, which is all connected with Viking Direct, but unfortunately they only seem to do flimsy board backed envelopes too. Appreciate the help though.
