In fact, if your Post Office stays open later than ours, have an envelope prepared and post the letter that the Avocat has drafted, the minute you leave his office. At the very latest, Saturday morning. It must have the P.O. stamp indicating 23rd Nov at the latest if that's the deadline for the option to cancel.

If I do cancel I'll ask the solicitor to do it.

He can prepare a cancellation letter on your behalf if you ask him, but you must sign it (and preferably post it yourself, who knows what extra fees he'll charge!).
A simple letter is sufficient, although it would be impressive to cite the relevant Articles of the Code concerned.

OK, seen the avocat. He's looked at the paperwork, says there are so many mistakes that he'll just write to them and inform them the contracts are wrong and they're not valid.

Job done and lesson learnt.

By the way, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with it all. As long as the revenue from EDF has been calculated correctly it's all OK. He reckons I shouldn't be out of pocket. But if the rep has lied I felt I didn't want to do business with them. Pity really as if he hadn't lied all may have been well.

I'm pleased to hear that you are legally getting out of this mess.
However I don't quite follow your saying 'there is nothing fundamentally wrong', especially as I was led to understand from a previous link that the company you were allowing to do the installation were in receivership. Did the avocat not pick up or comment on this?

Our neighbour has had them installed under the same system I nearly fell over myself when I was shown the Bill/Credit agreement.

A salutary warning there. Look out for solar panel salesmen bearing gifts...
