can anyone help; we live in france but have a uk credit card;
on holiday in may we had £250 fraudulently added to our card; for a variety of reasons we are now at the point of suing the card company to try and get it back.....does anyone out there know if this can be done in the uk or if not,how to do it in france?
thanks in advance

Re: ? small claims
hmm yes; well that has been the case in the past
however this bank says that it is perfectly plausible for us to have ordered 250 pounds worth of chinese takeaway at one sitting
also that they dont believe that we were told the card wouldnt go through and paid by cash instead as we cant show the cash receipt!
lastly despite the company involved sending us a message from their head office staing they agree it was fraudulent - the bank still refuse to reimburse us.....
hence the small claims

Re: ? small claims
thx for that
I have visited this site but it seems that you might need an address in uk to claim...i was hoping someone might clarify this
obviously any court appearance would be in the uk ...

Re: ? small claims
for anyone who mught be interested..after further investigations, It would appear that we can claim in the uk with the financial ombudsman as the cards are british, even though we live in france
if you wish to complain about a financial problem in the country you live in then this site would be very useful;
http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/fin-net/members_en.htm
it lists all of the ombudsmen or equivalents in europe....
