ok now the message has got annoying enough for me to consider a replacement sky card/ box
can anyone tell me if the only route if you have no UK address is to go through one of the companies advertising on the web??
I would just remove the card and use the free sat channels but I enjoy channel 5...

thx in advance for your help and sorry if I am just repeating previous posts but it didnt seem clear in earlier ones

Re: sky

Net posts I have seen suggest you can buy a new card, in UK. Perhaps a friend, via their address for you and to pass on. Just share the Sky card number?

I have similar problems, but have UK address, but not yet actioned.

I've just ordered a new one via. my sister in the UK. Trouble is, I need another 5!

Anyway, ordering one isn't a problem - providing you give a UK address. The potential problem is when you try to register it from your 'phone in France....

Here's a lovely 'blog by a friend of mine to make you laugh.

so very funny!!
He sums up my telly feelings completely!
So back to the drawing board; who can I get to send me a card???
Perhaps I should add that we are totally below the radar as we currently pay nothing; although we do only get to watch channel 5, sky 3 and then BBC etc
- we are reluctant to pay very much at all but want more than eurosat offers.

Re: sky

actually turned out that his blog was useful too; we appear to have a freesat for sky card; so long as I can persuade a family member to let me use their address, then I can order a new one for just 20 euros; success!!

Re: sky

Retailer in UK where my box came from said if you stick any card - old credit, supermarket clubcard, you can access MOST channels. Not tried it, but thumb now sore hitting Back-Up to get rid of message. Plan B soon methinks.

Or, don't use a card, box is merely a decoder for your sat dish, limited channels though I am advised. Oh, the sadness of life, missing the third re-run of Come Dine With Me!

Yes, cost for new card was sterling £20 I read on net.

Re: sky

For me Gibbs has taken over from Grissom. Love the Goth, ex Mossad femme Cote de Pablo and the original man from Uncle. How does David McCallum stay so young. I want some of his drugs.:wub:

On a sidebar, what box do people choose to record TV progs while out or watching another channel. Sky let's you do that, but at a cost. Pal in UK has just got a Humax (?) box that allows 200 hrs recording via two channels while he watches third. Too much for me, but like the idea.

Re: sky

Re: sky

oops ; yes
went to the sky site as mentioned in le chant's friends blog; followed instructions for getting a replacement freesat card (did a search on replacement cards); NOTE you need a uk address, credit card WITH UK ADDRESS and a UK BASED email address....
In the end Dad registered and paid for it all in his name

Hope this helps:lol:
