Very sad!
I never met Roger, but found his posts very helpful and sensed he was - 'a good sort'.
He was also one of the very few people who I had contacted via PM as recently as the end of Jan this year.
Knowing him to be a member of a shooting club near Carcasonne, I had suggested that if he was ever in my area, wanted to do some shooting and had an hr free just to give me a buzz, and we could have a private session at my club.
He replied and thanked me saying that he'd like to, but his shooting activities, as well as many others, had been seriously curtailed as he had a health problem, treatment was planned but he was cautiously optimistic.
Unfortunately that was the first and last message I had from him.

He'll be missed on this forum.
I send my sincere condolences to his family.

How very sad. Though I don't post much, I always found Roger's posts to be informative and in the true spirit of the forum.

May he rest in peace.

As others have said, Roger will be sadly missed on this forum, he seems to have had a very interesting life and I am one of the many who appreciated his advice, knowledge and insight into life. RIP.

Roger was a sage. A good man whose posts helped advise and inform many. His wise counsel and gentle manner will be missed.

I am very very sad about this. Like all, I always read his posts because he was always spot on and the advise he gave was extremely helpful.

Hope the family can cope with this sad loss.

Back after a while away. Read his posts often. This is very sad. May he find peace as may his family
