Removal Firms?

I would suggest you google International Removals and start asking for quotes and bagging your slot asap. The bank holidays fall awkward this year with Xmas Day on a Friday, so the official Boxing Day public holiday will be the Monday, which only leaves a max of three working days that week without bank hol overtime rates. And there may be quite a few Brits banking on making a last minute escape before Brexit.

I would suggest that you get a couple of firms local to you to give quotes Get them to come to your house so that they see the amount of stuff there is to move Do not use an online firm that requires you to estimate the volume yourself What happens is that they pick it up and suddenly the volume has expanded and you have to pay a load more to get it delivered
As ET has said I doubt you will even get anyone to do it between Xmas and NY What about if there is quarantine either side of the Channel?

It is common where a client does not have a full load to move to be included as a part load with other deliveries.
The part loads may be packed in "pods" in the lorry
These deliveries could be in different countries like one delivery in France and one or more in Spain.
In such a situation, the carrier would not commit to a specific delivery date but instead a delivery period which could be over several weeks.
When we moved to France, we didn't have a full load and our local UK removal company sub-contracted to an international carrier and they shipped our furniture to the other carrier in the UK.
I think that they were called Luker Bros from Oxford.
We told them when we were ready to receive the delivery and they gave us a slot of one week when it would be delivered.
We received the keys to our house and by co-incidence the furniture arrived one hour later.
The removers should ask you to complete an inventory in case customs need to confirm the contents ( and also for insurance).

my son used these people a month ago to move from Amsterdam to the UK. They were great, very reasonably priced, turned up on time and fast

Hi. Excuse me for hopping over from the Italian forum.
We have used Wheadon's Removals from near Crawley, Sussex and would highly recommend them if you are anywhere nearby. We had them do all the packing for us and they were brilliant; very careful and swift.
