Good lord, WARN me..... RULES..... No thanks.

In that case, I think moving to France is not for you

Indeed. You're actually 2 years younger than me, but in poorer physical shape and ready to give up work and retire, so it's not surprising you feel so much older...

The forum's for everyone who seeks or provides advise, but a measure of humour is essential. Please keep posting, the more the merrier. Regarding age gap, you're a youngster compared to myself and some others here.
Oh, and if you don't like rules, don't even think about re-locating to France. Seriously! Rules (and breaking them) are part of the French dna. Even my wife would agree. (Hope she doesn't read this or I'll be in the doghouse yet again, either that or she'll get her mini guillotine out of storage)........

I'm in my early 70s, so not all that much difference. FWIW, I've lived in France for over 4 decades (7 different Présidents) and I think I've experienced everything you can name (except prison). All advice is based on personal experience or knowledge gained over the years. Please don't take offence because you were asked to change your colour - I, too, had difficulty reading what you wrote and almost sent a pm.....
