Default Moving to Mayenne

Hi All,
We are in the process of buying a holiday home/future retirement home in the North of the Mayenne, 15km East of Lassay Les Chateaux. This area doesn't get much/any mention in any of the guide books/French property magazines etc, so wondered what others on this site think about it. Regards JOn.K

Well I know we have members in the Angers and Nantes, Tours, Caen areas so given some time someone who has been through or knows a little more about the Mayenne area may come along. All our members don't check in every day so a little patience can be rewarding.

Also if you search the French section using the word Mayenne it does kick back quite a few results.

hi we have inherited a large house in Bais, about 10Km south of Mayenne, it seems a very quiet and peaceful area, and very friendly, the neighbours have supervised access to the house for workmen and cut the lawn and trimmed the roses!, all without asking, just as well really as we don't yet speak much french!
the countryside is beautiful and has all one needs, my brother seemed very happy there until his death.

Hello, Jon. Haven't been on this forum for a little while, but just saw your thread. We have a house in Landivy, NW Mayenne. Generally speaking, it is a quiet département and tends to get overlooked as far as tourism, etc. goes. Hope you will be happy here!

Sally & LPC. We are off this weekend to sign on the line on Monday. Very much looking forward to owning a property over there. You can't make 'quiet'
