Question Moving to Lille: how much time does it take to find a flat?

Hello,

My husband just found employment in Lille. He is due to start work on 2 February 2009. He is in the UK at the moment taking care of a few things and will be going back to Lille tomorrow to look for a flat. He has an appointment with an estate agent on Monday. Does anyone know how long it will take to find somewhere in a decent part of Lille? We're looking for something with two bedrooms as we have quite a bit of stuff to move.

We aren't very picky. It's just him and me, no pets, no children. We plan to sell the car in the UK before we leave for good. We rent in England and our lease is up in April and we can afford to pay the rent here and in France, so there are no problems there. I'm not working at the moment.

We both speak speak some French, my husband more than me.

Thanks in advance,

Celine
