Hi - I've just moved to Nontron with my family and wondered if anyone knew whether mains sewerage and broadband is available to all areas of Nontron? We are living about 1km outside of Nontron centre. Any advice on how we obtain this information would be greatly appreciated.

If any of you live in Nontron and recommend anything in particular, it would be nice to hear from you. I've found the great swimming pool, rugby, doctors and theatre.

Welcome to the Forum, Typically most towns have both mains sewerage and Broadband when you move away from built up areas most folk rely on Fosse Septics for sewerage. I would advise on making certain a property has been connect to the mains as some folk do hold out a rather long time.

Your Mairie is the place to go to ask about both mains sewerage (= "tout à l'égoût") and broadband (= "ADSL").
Like us, 5 km from the nearest town, all houses may still have a "fosse septique", but even our isolated hamlet has ADSL.
