http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...n-English.html I can't say I find misery and unhappiness. Yes, there are times when my franglais is inadequate, but that's my problem. The French to learn English to be happier? When I go back to the UK all I see and hear is unhappiness; a moan a minute. Weather, housing costs, rates going up annually, traffic, state of roads and potholes; check out the Letters page of any local rag, or check out the comments when a council decide to bring in wheelie bins! Victor Meldrew is alive still! |
Re: Les Miserables?
"utter rubbish" is not usually a word I use lightly but what a pitiful compilation of pre-conceived ideas and pre-digested cliches. With such a rag, I doubt the author will one day hope for the Pulitzer prize
