Welcome Victoria, you will find lots of help on this part of the ExPats site. Why not go into the site and just post your 'help' needs. There are many very knowledgeable people here, myself not included. Versailles I have enjoyed as a tourist; beautiful. Tell us if you have already been to France or is this a deep water experience. Share what you feel.
Others will be here to say welcome.

Hello all,
My name's anne, I'm French and I currently live in the UK, with my partner and 2 children. You probably all wonder why...
Anyways, my family and I are looking to move (back) to France, precisely near my parents in the Toulouse area. We're thinking on moving in the next 2 years, giving us time to prepare the move. My partner needs to learn French in order to make it easier to find a job. He's a good salesman and hopefully with some French he'd be able to get something. If anyone has tips for him, we'll be happy to hear about it
Has anyone have elements of comparison on how easier or more difficult it is to get your driving license in France rather than in England?
Also, i'll be happy to read about any experience of families moving to France, and what made it a success according to you.
kind regards to all and thank you for reading me

Hi Anne

Not in the right area to help - although plenty of members are. Being French yourself I would think a huge help.
Someone with more knowledge will be along soon to welcome you - although it is the weekend.

Good luck and best wishes

thank you bigglesworth,
Yes, being French should help indeed, and hope it will, but as I've left the country for over 6 years now, I am looking for insight experiences. My parents keep painting me a very dark picture for employment, so I'm hoping to find some more helpful tips... And who knows, meet friends too...
Cheers all

And a welcome from me also. Why 3 dog, given your profile says you have 4 rescues? And can you share the make/model of the classic car?
And, with nearly 40 years behind you, congrats.
After eight years you have found this site. There are some great people here with lots of good info to share and the Search button will show lots more.
PS: Got two JRs here, one rough one smooth.

Hi to all and thanks for the welcome,
I'll answer all questions, and as ant and deck say's in no particular order,
3 dog night, is a way of saying how cold it is, if your living in the open and you've huskiess (excuse spelling) and its a very cold night then three dogs will keep you warm when they cuddle all around you, hence its winter and getting colder, 1:2 or three dogs cold!

8 years here, and why now to join,
well i was one of the moderators on the bbc gardeners world forum but they pulled the plug a few months ago and ive looked at a few forums but i can't be doing with people and 15 mins of fame "be as nasty as you like you'll never meet face to face people" and so it was because of that i thought maybe this forum is more to the grown up people.

My reason for saying about the dogs was because when we came to live here we really did bend over backwards to make anyone we met as welcome as poss, and do as much as we could to help where we would, it was'nt all that long and we found some people would be telling us about other people and their faults, lumps and bumps, and then the very people they'd told us about would say the same about the first crowd, so we felt we we're being seen as some sort of shield for the back stabbers and its not our way, so we found a better form of true friendship in the animal rescue centre "hence "4 x dogs later,
Two of them we're really in a very bad way and I really do mean bad, they'd been ill treated / starved and we thought they'd not see one month more, we're into these now and if you could only see them you'd understand, show them a 20euro note and it wont wag a tail, give them a hug and see the tails going 50 to the dozen.

The car,
The pride and joy, its a 24 year old Bentley eight, and she is a beauti, a real dream come true,

And ref the sentence Well it was just love at first sight it really was, And i said i'd never marry i thought it was a daft idea and i always wanted a rolls or a bentley well i had to wait for the car.

Well 3 dog, not been in a position to rescue a dog, but respect to you for doing it.
Bentley is out of my knowledge, bit of a sixties freak with Healey, Renault Alpine (rally double freak), RS Escort - what a saddo - but I have a French friend with two R-R, both RHD and a LHD Alfa Romeo ...

Again, welcome. Can you brief your posts a tad, my attention span given I'm 108 and looking to do the London marathon tests these old eyes ....
