Default How Easy??

Hi,
I am french & my partner is Nigerian... Plus he does not speak French... Or "Un tout petit peu" he likes to say!
While he doesn't speak english, we are thinking to move to Paris in a few (3 or 4??) years...

My question is...

How easy is it for an engineer who does not speak French to find a good engineering job in France?
We'd welcome feedback from any engineers on here...

Thanks

There are a few English speaking firms here in Paris (largely American, and just one or two English), but without French I think it would be very hard to find meaningful and skilled employment. If you're planning for the future he still has time to learn!

My wifes friend lives in Paris with her american husband. He's an engineer but hardly speaks a word of french - infact hes bloody useless in conversational french, and doesn't even seem to want to learn. However he has the advantage of speaking English, and (more or less) knows the technical terms of his job in French, but apparently its his French collegues who make more of an effort to speak English to him & the other English speaking staff.

I would think that your husband would have to learn (at least) the technical vocabulary in French and have to brush up on his English in order to be considered for a job
