Hi,my name is Terry.We currently live in Sussex on the South Coast,although we have owned an old farmhouse in Normandie for 25yrs.My Wife and I now plan to take early retirement and although Normandie has been wonderful we think to move somewhere warmer and are currently looking at properties in Charente-Maritime.If anyone has knowledge of this area and could give us some pointers that would be great.

Hi Terry. Welcome to the France forum. Just curious but where in Normandy is your present house? We'll be retiring to our house in Calvados (14230) next year.

Charente-Maritime was one area we considered closely, but there are people on here who actually live there who'll be along with better advice than I can give.

Hi,our house in Normandie is appox 15kms inland from Fecamp.The nearest village is Bretteville Du Grand Caux,a long name for a small village.
