french translator needed

Hi, does anyone know (pref native french speaker) or indeed is able to do some translation work from English to French? This work will be ongoing and would suit a student possibly as part time work?

If you know of anyone who can help and has an internet connected pc, and would be willing to offer a couple of paid hours a week, please post a response on this forum.

Regards,

Andy

I'm not a native French speaker but pretty fluent, currently teach English to business and professional adult students. What sort of work are we talking about?

Hi, Andy,
I'm English but nearly native (resident for 30 years). I have experience in business, and teaching business English to adults, also in translation work. Have laptop pc, and broadband connection. What kind of translations are you looking for? in what subjects? Maybe I can help.
Airgem.

translators are expensive if you need ongoing help, so try dictionary.com and click on translation to decipher letters and documents. You will get the gist of what letters say for free and if you need to reply, then pay someone to just do the letters.

Hi,

I have recently qualified as an English to French translator, so I would be happy to do some translations for you at a low rate.

Hello Nimrod. I don't know whether you've got back to any of the other people concerned but I'd find it really helpful to know whether you got yourself sorted out with a translator or what. hope all is going well.

Hi,

I've lived and worked in the secretarial field (including translations) for the last 32 years.

I have pc, and broadband connection so just let me know if I can help you out  All depends what sort of 'trads' you're looking for.

Cheers!

Sorry Nimrod. No reply for over a month. I'm withdrawing my offer. I'm sure you'll find someone.

maybe they already found someone - would be nice in posts like this, if the person originally posting could give some feedback

That's my guess too but the feedback would have been good. Hope they're enjoying their French experience.

Hello, i owe a big apology to those of you who have replied to my original post. It has been a traumatic time personally as well as really busy for me trying to set up a new business and subsequently have not looked on the forum until now. On a positive note i and am now installed in south west of France. phew.

I would like to thank those of you for the responses to my original post. I am now at the stage to pick up where i left off at the beginning of december. I am looking for a translator to do some work for this website <snip> which sells to the UK market and plans to launch in france this spring.

If anyone is able to help with this, please can you email me and i will talk through what needs to be done. I realise this isnt the appropriate place to discuss the work, but i feel it may answer the question of what text needs translating if you take a look at the site first and decide whether or not you will be able to help with translating the products as some things are quite technical and need a good understanding of the french language.

Ideally, we would like someone who can do a minimum of a few items per week.

Please email me by clicking on my username for further info if you are interested.

Sorry for the delay in responding and for the manner in which i am using this noticeboard; but i am finding that professional translators cost way more than the budget will stretch. I am sorry if this offends!

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Sorry I haven't replied to your last e-mail. I have had a problem with my e-mail account, so I don't have your e-mail address anymore. Would you mind sending me your e-mail address at the e-mail address that is on my CV?
Once I have your e-mail, I will do the first translation you sent me (fortunately I have saved it on my computer!) and I will e-mail it back to you.

Thanks a lot and sorry about that,

Kind regards,

Marie-Ange West
