French Tax Forms
We've always completed the normal (white) tax form Cerfa 2042, and also the pink Cerfa 2047 (Declaration des Revenues Encaisses a l'Etranger).
We plan next year (for 2011/12) to complete these on line. When completing the tax return from the government web site, can someone please confirm if there is a reference or a link to complete Cerfa 2047 on-line. |
Re: French Tax Forms
pretty certain but dont quote le that the online declaration is only really suitable as a declaration simple as it were; anything other than the run of the mill is tricky
You've snt my heart racing and my eye twitching just with the title of this post as we have a mammoth declaration to do this year with hubby having earned in 4 countries, paid tasxalready in 3 and worked for 5 different companies.... valium anyone:eek: |

Re: French Tax Forms
Income from abroad (i.e. outside France) must be declared (converted into euro equivalent) on form cerfa 2047. Here is the link you need:
http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/R10243.xhtml This will take you to the download page: http://www.impots.gouv.fr/portal/dgi...typePage=ifi01 Hope this helps. |
Re: French Tax Forms
phew thanks for that; that wasn't mentioned at the tax office last week!!
I'll sort it out now! |
Re: French Tax Forms
PS. Once you have filled in the 2047, the totals should be transferred to the totals at the end of the 2042.

Re: French Tax Forms
Yes I've been looking into this too as also need to complete the 2047 form for foreign income (salaried not pension)
I can't see how they can be filled in online like the 2042 form as it appears they can only be downloaded to complete by hand If anyone knows anything different please advise |

If anyone knows anything different please advise This begs a question for those who complete the 2042 tax return on-line: Are there any sections that request copies of receipts or other official documents? i.e by attachments. I ask this because on the 'hard copy' form 2042 section 7 - Reductions Credits d'Impots (not applicable to everyone) if completed by those wishing to benefit from various tax credits, one is expected to include receipts or official documents to justify certain claims - for example those receipts by gardeners, home help, handymen and others registered with the Cheque Emploi Service. We always photocopy the original receipts and send the copies by post together with the completed 2042 & 2047. |
Re: French Tax Forms
Form 2047 is just a worksheet for foreign income to assist with the calculations. When you have done you transfer the totals onto the 2042 which is the actual tax declaration.
Your tax bill is worked out from the 2042 not the 2047. |
