French coverage of the Election?

Is there any? How are the French press presenting the British Election?
Also, is it true that the British Consul(s?) are going around encouraging voting?
Are any of you registered for postal voting?
Just wondering about it from Sunny Sheffield.

careful though because it depends on the paper...
You lived here a while so you know that the french are out depict the english as "losers" at any given chance, weather its on tv zapping or in the papers.

The media are too busy at present with the chaos caused by the volcano and SNCF strikes in the south, and other "domestic" issues, although they are giving quite a big coverage of the Polish President's funeral....

I assume you haven't seen the British papers' treatment of "Johnny Foreigner" Especially the good old "Daily Heil"

In a GLOBAL financial crisis and recession (prompted by USA) Gordy managed to keep most people working, and prevented most homeowners having the rug pulled out from under them by their mortgagee. He led with a strategy which was then copied by USA and others.

Compare that with the 80's domestic recession, when we had mass closures of major employers, massive inflation (remember 15.4% mortages?) and huge numbers of people losing their homes in a state of negative equity.

With Gordy as chancellor the UK enjoyed the best period of financial stability in modern history - fact!

Roll on Gordy I'd say, we don't need personality politics if the guy is doing a good job.

"Silver-spoon Dave" will take us right back there and forget Nick, he just acts as a dilutee in politics.

Interestingly, Martin Lewis (MSE) did a poll with surprising results which shows how misconceptions prevail:

:rofl::rofl: I am not sure even the voters know what they said either. But what a gorgeous hoot we are having - Jesus Christ Superclegg is on a mission, CamMan might be forced to grovel (arrogant sh*ite) and as for Gorgon Brown, only "the lord" (ie himself in his eyes) knows how he is feeling.

A high point for me was when Superbitch Jacqui Smith lost her seat - yey, now THAT's when the public really "speaks".

But the best bit was the Green woman getting a seat at last - how ace if Gorgon Brown could get enough on-side but needed just one more for the Crown and had to go to her!!! He's definitely on his last legs at last thank "god".

At the end of the day, let them just get something stable together before the Brit economy goes to hell in a hat (a bowler hat probably ....)

I agree on a stable, hayloft or any old barn especially for the likes of these livestock, preferably without seperate stalls. Brown of course may wish to share his manger and floor bedding bales with (jack) straw........:sneaky:
